Five Silk Road Ensemble members returned to the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) for the culmination of a semester-long residency engaging RISD students in the art of storytelling. On May 20, 2008, students from the “Folk Tales in the Digital Age class” showcased their final projects—live performances of the three stories, each approached through different media, telling new stories based on traditional tales using projection, live animation, costumes, scenery and, of course, good old-fashioned yarn spinning.
