Gevorg Dabaghyan

Duduk (Armenia) Gevorg Dabaghyan is among the most prominent duduk players in Armenia today. He is also one of the first virtuosos to perform excerpts from the Divine Liturgy of the Armenian church on the duduk, an instrument developed nearly 1,500 years ago. Dabaghyan is famous for his interpretations of the works of Sayat Nova, and his performances of traditional Armenian folk music are lauded by the most discriminating critics. He received his Master’s degree at the Yerevan State Conservatory, where he now teaches. In addition to performing in the Silk Road Ensemble, he is the leader of the Shoghaken Folk Ensemble.
