Concerts at Tanglewood: June 22 & 24, 2012
We are pleased to announce that the Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma will play two concerts at Tanglewood this summer. We are looking forward to returning to this idyllic performance space in the Berkshires.
The Arts and Passion-Driven Learning: July 27-29, 2012
How can we turn learning from a requirement to a desire? How can artists collaborate with educators to design powerful learning experiences that focus on both the individual and the community?
Registration just opened for The Arts and Passion-Driven Learning, a weekend institute presented by the Silk Road Project in collaboration with the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This new program will open with a plenary session with our artistic director Yo-Yo Ma and a concert by the Silk Road Ensemble. Along with Harvard faculty, Ensemble members will present arts-integrated lessons throughout the institute.
Deepen your understanding of how learning takes place in and through the arts. Join artists and educators from a variety of backgrounds in workshops, panel discussions and small group sessions to experience and analyze what passion-driven learning looks like in practice.
Educators and artists from all disciplines are invited to participate.
Program details and application through Harvard's Programs in Professional Education
Tuition: $875
Space is limited.
The Silk Road Project will provide limited funds for assistance with tuition and travel. Participants should seek funding from other sources where possible. The application for financial aid is attached to the institute application at Harvard's Programs in Professional Education.
