Materials for Students
CALLIOPE, a world history magazine for ages 9-14, has worked with the Silk Road Project to produce two special issues that help students connect the world with their classrooms:
"Music Travels the Silk Road" focuses on musical migrations along the historic Silk Road, featuring musicians from the Silk Road Ensemble. "Music Travels the Silk Road" teacher's guide
For teachers using the "Music Travels the Silk Road" issue of CALLIOPE in the classroom, a free teacher's guide is available, created by The Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE) in collaboration with the Silk Road Project.
"Indigo: A Color That Links the World" reveals a world of connections through the history and uses of a remarkable dye, indigo. This issue was developed in conjunction with the Silk Road Project's educational initiative Silk Road Connect.
