Morgan Stanley: Sponsor of the Silk Road Project in Hong Kong and China

Morgan Stanley became the Silk Road Project’s China and Hong Kong sponsor in October 2007, acting on its commitment to arts and cultural institutions around the world. This partnership supported concerts by the Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma in Hong Kong and Beijing in addition to a private performance in Hong Kong exclusively for Morgan Stanley clients and top executives.

The private concert for Morgan Stanley guests took place at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, famous for its magnificent views of Hong Kong’s renowned Victoria Harbor. The night began with a cocktail reception for 250 guests. Following refreshments and a presentation by Stephen Roach, Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, guests were ushered into a stunning ballroom that had been specially designed with a Silk Road theme.

Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble gave a 90-minute performance and ended the night at a world-class dinner featuring cuisines from regions along the Silk Road. Guests had the opportunity to meet and mingle with Yo-Yo Ma and members of the Ensemble.

“We were delighted to partner with the Silk Road Project in bringing their innovative music to China and Hong Kong. We’re committed to providing cross-cultural enrichment for our clients. This event provided everyone with a magical evening of music from some of the world’s leading and most innovative performers.”
