Silk Road Project Executive Assistant
Job Description (full-time position)

The executive assistant reports to the CEO/executive director of the Silk Road Project, Inc. (SRPI) and primarily provides administrative support for the CEO/executive director. In addition, the executive assistant may provide administrative support for the office and finance director, communications manager, program director, artistic coordinator, development staff and project coordinator. Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, making travel arrangements; managing schedules and calendars; maintaining shared data bases; serving as receptionist for the SRPI office; assisting in preparing presentations; coordinating on-site and off-site meetings; providing liaison with Sound Postings LLC.

The executive assistant will help to coordinate communications among the CEO/executive director, the other SRPI staff, SRPI board members, artists, musicians, university affiliates, performance venues, and others as needed. Ability to assist as needed with writing and editing correspondence, newsletter materials and other publications is a plus.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in related administrative work
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines, to take direction, and to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to function well in a fast paced environment
  • Technically skilled; proficient on Mac platform in computer applications including Microsoft Office, Internet research and data base management
  • Experienced with expense reports, Excel spreadsheets
  • Flexible, energetic and willing to learn
  • Highly motivated and a proven self-starter
  • Familiarity with music preferred
  • Interest in cross-cultural communication preferred
  • Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends
