Ji Hyun Kim
kayagum/voice (b. 1974, Korea)

Ji Hyun Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and began to study kayagum byongchang [GA ya goom BYUNG chung] (Korean traditional singing) with accompaniment on kayagum (plucked long zither), at the age of twelve. She has studied with An Sook Sun and Park Kui Hee, who were both designated as "National Cultural Treasures" by the Korean government. Before embarking on a career as a soloist, she was a lead performer in the Ansan City Traditional Orchestra from 1998 to 2000.
