Bukhara Concerto, 2000

Bukhara Concerto was composed in 2000 for the Silk Road Project new works commissioning program. Since 1999, the Project has reviewed the works of over 65 composers from Silk Road lands. The Project has commissioned pieces from 20 composers who have demonstrated the skills, knowledge and potential to create new chamber works reflecting the theme of cross-cultural exchange. This piece, along with 16 other commissions, was reviewed at a workshop at the Tanglewood Music Center in July 2000.
