Expanded Internet Presence, 2002-2003 Projects in US and Abroad

May 27, 2002, New York The Silk Road Project has re-launched its website, www.silkroadproject.org with a new look and feel and expanded features. Serving as a central resource for all components of this multi-faceted, global project, the Project's website offers an extensive compilation of material about the project including information on the historic Silk Road; details on Silk Road Project events (festival tour schedules, artist residencies, lectures and exhibitions); comprehensive information on the music (repertoire, artists, instruments and recordings); a tour calendar; and links to related organizations.

As a resource for journalists, press.silkroadproject.org offers comprehensive background information on the Project, the artists and the music. Press releases, fact sheet and frequently asked questions (FAQs) can be easily accessed, as well as an extensive archive of images of Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble available for downloading. A website for educators, teachers.silkroadproject.org, offers the Silk Road Encounters educational materials including lesson plans and a sourcebook. All three websites are interrelated—allowing you to move back and forth from one to another. Visit the site and see for yourself—www.silkroadproject.org.
